Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated: 15 October 2026
1. What this covers
This policy applies to the Landie handset, the Landie mobile apps for iOS and Android, and the Landie phone service. It forms part of our Terms of Service, which govern all three. Section 13 of the Terms covers the app specifically.
As the account holder, you are responsible for how your Landie is used, including by your child and by anyone else in your household.
2. Landie is for families
A Landie is for personal, family and household use. It is not a business line.
You may not use a Landie or the Landie service to:
- run or support a business, or make calls on behalf of a business
- resell the service, sublicense it, or share your account with another household
- operate a call centre, answering service, hotline or conference bridge
3. Things you must not do
You may not use a Landie:
- for anything unlawful, or to help anyone else do something unlawful
- to harass, threaten, stalk, abuse, defame or menace anyone
- to make offensive, obscene or nuisance calls
- to make hoax, false or malicious calls to 000, or to misuse emergency calling in any way
- for spam, telemarketing, scam calls, or unsolicited commercial calls
- for autodialling, predictive dialling, robocalling, or continuous or bulk automated calling
- to impersonate another person or misrepresent who is calling
- to record a call without the consent of everyone on it, where the law requires that consent
- to tamper with, modify, reverse engineer or interfere with the handset, the app, our network or anyone else's service
- to attempt to gain unauthorised access to any system, account or data
- in a way that damages, disables or degrades the service for other customers
4. Fair and reasonable use
Landie plans are built around how families actually use a home phone. Calling included with a paid plan is for legitimate personal communication needs.
Our fair use limit is 200 minutes per month, counting calls to and from Australian mobiles and landlines together with international calls. Landie-to-Landie calls and calls to 000 never count towards it and are never limited.
We reserve the right to limit, restrict or bar chargeable calling on a Landie whose usage exceeds that fair use limit, or whose calling otherwise goes beyond normal family use.
We may also treat unusual calling patterns, excessive call volumes, excessive call durations or otherwise excessive usage as an indication that a Landie is being used in breach of this policy, whether or not the fair use limit has been reached. Examples that would prompt us to get in touch include sustained near-continuous connection and patterns consistent with commercial or automated calling.
We will contact you before we apply any limit.
5. Recording and monitoring
Landie does not record calls, listen to, record or store the content of any call. We keep records about calls: the numbers, date, time and duration, as described in our Privacy Policy and as the law requires us to.
6. What happens if this policy is breached
If we believe a Landie is being used in breach of this policy, our normal first step is to contact you before discontinuing your service.
Depending on how serious it is, we may:
- ask you to stop and give you a chance to put it right
- restrict or bar particular types of calls
- suspend the service
- cancel the plan or close the account
We will act proportionately and give you notice, except where we must act immediately, for example where there is a risk to someone's safety, a suspected criminal offence, misuse of 000, or a legal obligation requiring us to act.
000 always works. We will not block a Landie's ability to call 000 as a consequence of a breach of this policy.
7. If you disagree with our decision
Contact us at hello@landie.com.au and ask us to review it. We will acknowledge within 2 working days.
If you are not satisfied, you can contact the Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman, free for consumers: 1800 062 058 · tio.com.au

8. Reporting misuse
If you receive a nuisance, abusive or suspicious call from a Landie number, contact us at hello@landie.com.au. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 000.
9. Changes
We may update this policy. If a change materially reduces what you are allowed to do, we will give you at least 20 working days' notice before it takes effect, and you may cancel without charge.
