About Us

We're parents who love technology (we've built our careers in it) but we're also curious about how kids will stay... well, Human in this increasingly digital and artificially intelligent world. We grew up calling friends on a Landline home phone, filling awkward silences, learning to listen. And we wonder: when kids today grow up on screens and text chats, how does that shape the way they communicate? How they learn empathy, tone, and the rhythm of real conversation?

Technology is extraordinary. It opens up the world. But for young kids, it can also replace the slow, messy, beautiful work of learning how to be human — the unstructured play, the long phone calls about nothing, the deep focus that builds confident, creative minds. We believe one of the most important things we can do right now is give kids space to develop those skills before the digital world rushes in.

We wanted something better for families than "no phone" or "smartphone." So we started building Landie — a Wi-Fi home phone made just for kids. No screens. No internet. No algorithms. Just real conversations with the people they love, controlled entirely by parents through an app. Every feature exists because a parent asked for it. And every feature we left out, we left out on purpose.

We're a small team based in Australia, still in the early days, and we're building this for our own kids first. We hope Landie sparks something — longer conversations, nightly calls to Grandma, maybe even a few fewer arguments about screen time.

If you're thinking about these things too, we'd love to hear from you. We're figuring this out alongside every other parent, and we're glad you found us.
